Principal's pānui

Fakaalofa lahi atu ki mutolu oti,

It’s been a week full of colour, connection, and Rolleston Spirit as we’ve celebrated year 13 Spirit Week. From the themed dress-up days and lunchtime activities, our learners have shown once again what it means to bring energy, creativity, and kindness into our school community.

These moments of laughter and shared pride remind us that culture and connection sit at the heart of Rolleston College.

A big thanks to our head students and Mr Alby Wilson for their organisation of the week.

We hope that our wider community has not been too badly affected by yesterday’s wild weather. We also want to acknowledge the ongoing industrial action taking place across the sector. We recognise that this can cause disruption for families, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as teachers continue to advocate for fair and sustainable working conditions. Our shared goal remains unchanged – to ensure the very best for our young people, now and into the future.

A highlight of the week was our Cultural Awards evening, a celebration of the incredible diversity and talent within our school. The performances, speeches, and heartfelt acknowledgements reflected the strength of our community and the pride we take in our heritage and shared values. Thank you to the staff and whānau who supported the evening, and to our learners who continue to lead with passion and authenticity.

He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.

As we move further into term four – with senior exams and end-of-year celebrations approaching – let’s continue to show the Rolleston Spirit in all we do: by supporting one another, giving our best, and celebrating the journey as much as the achievements.

Have a safe and happy long weekend.

Fakaaue lahi oue tulou,
Rachel Skelton
