Introducing Ready to Flourish (R2F)

Ready To Flourish means taking care of yourself physically and mentally so that you can flourish both inside and outside of school. This can mean having healthy eating habits, working out, sleeping enough hours, or even doing something you love! Proper self-care is a must and should be a top priority as it affects every aspect of your life.

Here at Rolleston College, we have a handful of dedicated learners and teachers, to make sure everyone in the school is ready to flourish.

  • The R2F captains (Khylle and Kate-Lynn)

  • R2F teachers (Mrs. Forward and Mrs. Vorbeck)

  • And the new R2F committee, which consists of over ten teachers!

From having our own gym, available counsellors, and a variety of clubs and events, there are countless tools provided to help students thrive at Rolleston College.

Events are a huge part of promoting the wellbeing of students. This ranges from fundraisers to non-uniform days, and talk sessions throughout the year.

Recently, we had our Selwyn Parenting Network event focused on anxiety. This event was a way to help parents/guardians understand and learn about the anxiety students face in and outside school.

On 22 March we also had our Colour Your Day event! It was a non-uniform day on which we encourage all learners to wear bright and colourful outfits to support an organisation called E Tū Tāngata, a cause to help tackle tall poppy syndrome!

Coming up on 7 June we have our Pink Shirt Day!! Although the national Pink Shirt Day has passed, we have rescheduled it to align with a year 12 class that is running Pink Shirt Day as part of their NCEA level 2 assessment.

They have planned many activities from selling pink candies and pink cupcakes to running team sports during lunch. This day is all about coming together and going against bullying. We can’t wait to see everyone in their pink accessories and clothes!

If you have any questions, your R2F captains Kate-Lynn and Khylle are always here to answer them.
