Principal's pānui

Talofa lava,

One of our Rolleston Spirit values was in full focus this week—Building Communities. We have seen the college come alive throughout the week, and service from learners as part of our college community, and we have welcomed community members in for presentations and performances.

Manuia le Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa! We celebrated Samoan language and culture this week, following the theme “Ia malu lou sā. Folau i lagimā – A well-grounded self is a successful self”.

This week has been another wonderful celebration of our diverse community, led by Mr Viliami Vea and Mrs Aneta Matagi. We celebrated the week with activities throughout, a combined performance at Lincoln High School, and wrapped up the week with a performance at lunchtime. Fa’afetai tele lava to our teachers, learners, and aiga who made this week a success.

This morning, we were thrilled to host our current and future business partners and members of our community at our Business and Community Partnership Breakfast. It was incredible to see so many new and familiar faces, and our student leaders represented Rolleston College with pride in their presentations. A huge thank you to our careers lead, Jo Ager, who, along with guiding learners on pathways past school, facilitates partnerships with organisations that support us with opportunities for learners to expand their horizons.

Wrap up warm for the weekend and enjoy the indoor winter sport activities.

He kākano i ruia mai i Rangiātea

Lost property
We still have a huge amount of unclaimed, unnamed lost property at student services, leftover from camp and other trips! If your child has lost something, please come and check the collection. We will be donating anything unclaimed in a few weeks.

Foster Park access
If your learner comes to or from school via Foster Park, please encourage them to use the paths, and not cut through sport fields/pitches. Grounds staff have noticed tracks from bikes and scooters which require remedial work so the grounds can be used for sports again. Let's be respectful of our neighbours and use paths and walkways, avoiding the soft/wet grounds.
