Principal's pānui

Tēnā koutou katoa,

We hope that whānau are looking forward to a break tomorrow for Matariki and an opportunity to spend time with loved ones.

Matariki is special because it signifies the start of the Māori new year: a time of reflection, remembrance, and celebration.

It's a period to honour ancestors, celebrate the present, and plan for the future. The rising of the Matariki star cluster in the winter sky signals this new beginning.

This week has been eventful with a wonderful year 9 dance showcase, FutureFest for the seniors to explore their possible future pathways, and today's awesome market day. Many thanks to the learners for their participation in this action-packed week and to the staff for their hard work in facilitating such rich and authentic experiences for our young people. This week we had two learners competing in Ngā Manu Kōrero for the school: Heperi Metekingi and Lara Mangu. We look forward to hearing all about your experience next week.

News

Foster Park access
If your learner comes to or from school via Foster Park, please encourage them to use the paths, and not cut through sport fields/pitches. Grounds staff have noticed tracks from bikes and scooters which require remedial work so the grounds can be used for sports again. Let's be respectful of our neighbours and use paths and walkways, avoiding the soft/wet grounds.

Lost property
Last opportunity to pick up lost property! We still have a gigantic pile of unnamed, unclaimed lost property, including uniform. If you recognise something, please collect it from student services, or tell your learner to come and collect it. We will be donating all unclaimed items NEXT WEEK.
