Careers and development: 19 June

FutureFest 2025

On Tuesday 17 June, we held our second in-house careers expo, with 45 businesses, organisations and providers onsite. With representatives from varied industries including Selwyn District Council, Forsyth Barr, the New Zealand Police, World Travellers, Defence Force, University of Canterbury, Fonterra and more, there were plenty of opportunities for our learners to get inspired for their pathway after Rolleston College.

We were exceptionally proud and excited to have several alumni attend as employers! Lucas McGregor, who works for Conroy Removals, has been named a finalist for Young Driver of the Year, and is absolutely loving his career path in the trucking industry.

All year 11 and year 12 learners attended the expo with their Ako and Advisory groups, and year 13s had the option to attend as well. We saw interest from learners of all year levels. Special shout out to those learners who assisted on the day and took great care of our providers.

The day was a huge success and we even welcomed groups from our friends at Ellesmere College and Darfield High School in the afternoon.

This event was organised by our amazing careers team, primarily Abbe Milne. We are incredibly grateful to every single business who was part of the expo and we are excited to continue to work with you!
