New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships

Congratulations to our four amazing learners who represented Rolleston College with pride at the NZSS cross country event in Whangārei on 14–15 June.

Elodie Wightman was an impressive fifth in the year 9 girls' 3km race, and joined the Canterbury year 9 girls' team on Sunday for a win in the relay!

Luke Angland placed 16th, and Jarrod Harris was 30th in a huge junior boys' field for the 4km. They were both part of the Canterbury junior boys' relay who finished fourth.

Ciaran Harris was 61st in the highly competitive senior boys' event.

Congratulations to these runners!

Basketball

Our Thomson boys' team enjoyed a three-peat win this week, with recent victories over Lincoln High School, Ashburton College and Christchurch Boys' High School.

Football

Both our girls' and boys' first XI teams took losses this week, with our boys going down 4–0 to Cashmere High School, and girls losing 3–1 to Villa Maria College.

Our junior boys' first XI had a convincing 4–1 win over Cashmere High School.

Netball

Our Senior A team goes from strength to strength, chalking up another win this week vs Kaiapoi High School (25–20).

Senior B had a narrow loss to Christchurch Girls' High School (19–16), while our year 10 A team was victorious over Hillmorton High School (26–21).

Year 9 A won handily over Villa Maria College with 23–12, while year 9 B drew with St Margaret's College (14–14). Our year 9 C took a commanding 21–8 win over Cashmere High School.

Huge shout out, as always, to our coaches, umpires and volunteers who support out girls to play each week.
