Our graduation celebration on Monday night was a lovely evening to spend farewelling our year 13 learners. We feel privileged to have shared the last five years with them and with their whānau, and we are so excited about their “what nexts”. We encourage our alumni to stay in touch with the college. They will always be a part of us.
Tuesday night saw our Pō Whakanui—an opportunity to celebrate with our Māori whānau the successes of our tamariki across the year, but also a special acknowledgement for our year 13 learners as they step out into the world. A huge ngā mihi to the kaiako who organised this amazing event.
Wednesday was our last Board of Trustees meeting of the year, and the final meeting for Mr Greg Knowles as he steps down from the board after ten years. Once again we thank Greg so much for all the years of service to the school.
Thursday night saw the Selwyn Cadet Unit have its last parade of the year. We thank Ms Grenn for all of her hard work and dedication to this unit and providing an opportunity for our learners and others in Selwyn to experience this military training.
Our best wishes are with our touch team and athletics team as they head off to compete over the weekend in Rotorua and Timaru respectively. We wish them well as we do our year 10 campers who head out next week on various adventures across the South Island.
Have a great weekend all!
