Rolleston College has begun an arts mentoring initiative with local Rolleston schools.

The purpose is twofold: to connect with local schools providing arts specialist support in a chosen learning area and also showing primary school learners how the arts is experienced at secondary school.

The focus is on mentoring: arts specialist staff from Rolleston College mentor their learners, who in turn mentor and share their art form with students at the visiting schools.

Our first workshops have been a hip hop dance workshop at Rolleston Christian School led by Jemma Dalley and a pop-up gallery at Lemonwood Grove School Te Uru Tarata led by Claire Robertshaw.

Mentoring with the other primary schools will continue in 2025.
