Principal's pānui

Kia ora koutou,

I stumbled across the following quote that made me reflect on how fortunate we are as a school to have such an amazing year 13 cohort. Every group leaves their mark on the school but this group really is something special. From day dot all of our year 13s regardless of a leadership title or not have stepped up into the leadership space personifying the quote below.

Example is not the main thing in influencing others. It is the only thing.

Our year 13s help with lunchtime playground duties, mentor younger students who might be having difficulty finding their way, assist with lunchtime activities and generally just show the rest of the school what it is to be the horoeka haemata: the flourishing lancewood. Today, on our whānau school sports day, this leadership made it one of the most enjoyable sports days ever.

Thanks mums, dads and wider whānau for raising such positive, delightful, civic minded individuals. Our future is bright in the hands of these superstars!

Have a great weekend

Rachel
