Principal's pānui

Tēnā koutou katoa,

This week we conclude the derived grade exams. It has been heartening to see our learners studying hard for these exams which give us a good indicator of a learners level of understanding in a particular area prior to the end of year exam in addition to providing data for use if a learner is not able to sit the exams.

We encourage learners to work with their teachers over the remaining weeks of the term to understand what they might need to learn more to be best prepared for the end of year exams.

Thank you to all those parents who came in for the subject selection meeting on Monday. This was very well attended and we appreciate the time taken by parents to allow us to have a rich home school partnership based on good understanding of learning programmes and pathways.

We are excited about tournament week this week and encourage all of our athletes to rest up over the weekend. We cannot wait to see some great results.

Ngā mihi

Rachel Skelton

Have your contact details changed?
If any of your information has changed, e.g., address, phone numbers, email, emergency contacts, changes in circumstances, please let our enrolments team know at admin@rollestoncollege.nz.

Loan PE tops
If your learner has borrowed a PE top from school, please return it as soon as you can! We are running out of loan tops and can't issue any more until they are returned.

Signing in and out of school
Learners are our responsibility during school hours, so those who are late to school should go straight to student services and sign in using the tablet. It will print a slip for the learner to take to their teacher. When they arrive in class, the teacher will update their attendance in Kamar.

Learners who leave school to go home early, work, or attend an appointment must sign out using the tablet in student services.

This is for health and safety purposes: for example, in the event of an evacuation or lockdown we need to know who is on campus.

Please remind your learners to sign in and out, rather than calling or emailing the school to let us know they have left afterwards.

Remember to contact us with any absences.
