Te wiki o te reo Māori is next week!

Te wiki o te reo Māori/Māori Language Week kicks off at midday on 14 Hepetema/September this year to commemorate Te Petihana Reo Māori, the Māori language petition taken to parliament in 1972.

This year's kaupapa is Ake, Ake, Ake: A forever language. It represents the resilience, adaptability and endurance of our language. It also reflects the commitment New Zealanders have to embracing and learning te reo Māori long into the future.

We have some activities planned for staff and learners, and we can't wait to get stuck in. Visit Reo Māori for resources including language cards and other digital downloads, and to learn more about the movement.

Our kaiako reo, Matua Jase, has shared this awesome resource from Te Kete Ipurangi with a daily wero/challenge for our rangatahi to get stuck into!
