Whānau leaders' message: week six

Correct uniform

Over the past few weeks, staff have been working hard to ensure learners are in the correct uniform at school. Inappropriate uniform items have been confiscated, and other uniform pieces have been provided where possible. All learners need to be in the correct uniform while at school. Please refer to the website for more information.

Any confiscated uniform items are returned on the next non-uniform day, or to a member of the learner's whānau who comes in to collect them.

If you need support with your child’s uniform, please contact your child’s Ako/Advisory coach. If your child is not wearing a piece of uniform and has a legitimate reason, please give your child a note explaining why and contact their Ako/Advisory coach. Your child will then need to collect a uniform pass from their whānau team.

Derived grade exams

Well done to all senior learners who engaged in derived grade exams this week. It was great seeing all our seniors coming in and working hard on the tasks that teachers had assigned. Developing Self was definitely at the forefront of our learner's minds, and we look forward to hearing about how they’ve done during this period.

A big well done to our juniors who have managed themselves well during this time. They have ensured they’ve built communities by staying away from exam areas and being on time to class change locations. Well done all!

Celebrate/Culture

Our annual haka competition is coming up later this term. Whānau have been busy learning the college haka and refining their presentation/pronunciation. A massive thank you to our senior learners and their leading of these practices. Our year 9s have been working hard in physical education classes to learn the actions and the kupu. We look forward to seeing the final presentations in week eight.
