Administrator / Receptionist

Are you highly motivated, personable and enjoy working with teenagers? Able to effectively prioritise and facilitate requests with a smile but also able to pay attention to the little things to ensure nothing falls through the cracks? Great then this might be the role for you.

Due to growth, Rolleston College seeks two full-time and one part-time admin superstar to join our fabulous administration team here at the College commencing Term 1, 2023. Your ability to work as part of a team with high integrity, confidentiality and honesty are essential. While experience in a secondary school setting and knowledge of KAMAR is preferable, it is not essential for the right candidate as training and support will be provided.

Our Administrator/Receptionist roles are varied. However, your skills will be crucial in helping to prioritise and facilitate staff, learner, whānau and community requests. Each team member currently holds a portfolio of work to allow for growth. This allows us to develop, embed and share portfolios amongst the team allowing for individual ownership and school growth.  

Reporting to our Admin Supervisor, there are two permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week) and one part-time (20 hours per week) position. Depending on the role, your hours of work will be 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, carried out each week of the school term, Monday to Friday. In addition to your core term time hours, the role will require you to work ten additional days (approx two days, each term break) to help with back-to-school, end-of-the-year, post and preterm preparations. Non-term hours may require some flexibility but can be negotiated in advance, depending on school commitments.

School Guidance Counsellor 

(Part time, approximately 20 hours per week, 3 days per week, Permanent Position)

We seek an enthusiastic, innovative, highly motivated, organised and culturally responsive registered counsellor to work alongside our learners, staff and the wider community. 

Your core role is to offer counselling services to learners, staff, families and whānau as required. Our counselling team will work collaboratively to ensure school-wide Hauora (wellbeing) and care systems evolve, so we continue to meet the needs of our school community. Working collaboratively with the staff, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and inclusive climate in the college, free of intolerance, harassment and bullying.

Community Liaison / Social Worker 

Term Time Only, 35 hours per week

We are seeking a Community Liaison / Social Worker to provide wellbeing and wrap-around social support to Rolleston College learners and their home whānau.

Supporting the College’s Ready to Learn Framework and working alongside our Pastoral and Hauora Teams, this role will support ‘at-risk’ learners, implementing strategies and interventions that teach expected behaviours to allow for optimum teaching and learning.   

Your core role is to offer community liaison / social work services to learners, staff and whanau as required. Our Hauora/Wellness team work collaboratively to ensure school-wide hauora and care systems evolve so we continue to meet the needs of our school community.  This role will require you to provide support, within the College and externally for learners who are accessing our extended hauora/wellbeing services. 

This role also requires you to support the empowerment of learners through walking alongside young people to build strengths, resilience and improving life skills.  You will also be required to facilitate some school-based resilience programmes and to liaise with external wellbeing support services.
