On Friday 19 June 2026, Adrin Gurung, Kirstine Corre, Amber Bason, and Courteney Nielsen participated in the Canterbury section of the Japanese Trivia Championships held at Hornby High School. During the two hours at the venue, they answered questions based on different categories, including Japanese geography and pop culture.
The team "Koko Rolly” worked together through the categories with only 30 seconds to complete each question. Everyone’s anticipation rose as the points were revealed, leaving Rolleston College tied at third along with a thrilling tie breaking question. Placing in the top five, the four couldn’t be happier and grateful for this amazing opportunity. All of them would like to express their gratitude by saying a huge thank you to Murayama Sensei for organizing and taking us to Hornby High School along with Keito for assisting and organising the traditional Japanese clothing.
Our photo showcases a yukata (the traditional summer dress of Japan) and a Happi (traditional Japanese jacket).

Once again, the team is truly grateful for this amazing opportunity!

Thank you for reading!
