Sam Gimblett
I am our school's He Kaiarataki – behaviour specialist teacher. I lead our Intervention team and I have oversight of our wider hauora services. This year I will be running small group interventions, one-on-one mentoring as well as supporting the pastoral team. Our focus as we move towards the end of year is 2026 enrolments and supporting extra transition for our future year 9s. I am also a restorative ranger, and the R2L Tier 1 lead. I look forward to working with you all to support our learners.
We have three awesome community kaimahi – Hemi, Jared and Tii – who connect with learners around our kura. Some things our community kaimahi do are run small group interventions, one-on-one mentoring, support with attendance, home visits and morning pick-ups, Morning Hustle (our breakfast club), work in alternative education and work in the R2 space.
Mana is one of the amazing youth workers we have onsite. Mana works at our kura as part of our Active As programme. He is onsite on Wednesdays and will be running small intervention groups that use sport and exercise as a vehicle to develop key skills such as resilience and focus that directly support learners' success inside the classroom.
