Trials for competitive Saturday teams

Each club and school is limited in the teams they can enter in the Canterbury Basketball Association (CBA) league. We encourage learners who don't make the teams below to play club basketball in the weekends.

Junior trials

For year 9 and 10 players

Selwyn Sports Centre

Monday 11 March and Wednesday 13 March

3:15pm to 4:30pm

Senior trials

For year 11, 12 and 13 players

Selwyn Sports Centre

Tuesday 12 March and Thursday 14 March

3:15pm to 4:30pm

In these trials we will also pick our team to play in the Thomson Trophy competition on Tuesday nights.

ALL players selected into competitive Saturday teams will be put through an essential refereeing course.

Rolleston College relies on community and parents to help us with our sporting programmes. We're looking for coaches for Saturday basketball teams in 2024. If you can help, please contact us.

Club and social basketball options

We also have a Friday night basketball league. Games are played against other schools and can be at home or away at other schools or community centres. This is an uncoached league. Learners can sign up a team of friends (minimum of nine players per team required) or as an individual, and we will put teams together.

Every team needs a parent contact who will attend each game and be the adult in charge.

Teams must be registered using the Google form by 11 April 2024.

We are also working on the Selwyn Hub competition on a Wednesday after school in the winter. There will be further info coming out about this shortly.
