
Hello, our names are Bhavya and Stella and we are your Kōanga whānau captains for 2024. We have taken great pride in our roles this year and can’t wait to increase our involvement around the school and greater community. Our goal this year is to encourage a culture of positivity and help create a sense of belonging for students here at Rolleston College.
We’d like to take a moment to introduce ourselves through this newsletter. Here is a small blurb from each of us.
Bhavya Kalra
I’m a year 13 student leader at Rolleston College, and I love meeting new people and working with them and helping them to create change.
What are your hobbies?
Making things (art and DIYs), reading and going on walks.
What three words sum up your leadership style?
Creative, passionate, empathetic.
Why did you apply to be a leader?
Because I enjoy taking part in extracurricular activities and meeting new people, while developing myself and my leadership skills.
Stella Trethewey
I am a Year 13 student leader at Rolleston College. I enjoy interacting with my peers and collaborating towards encouraging positive change.
What are your hobbies?
Playing sports (netball and tennis) and walking my dogs.
What three words sum up your leadership style?
Inclusive, Encouraging, Enthusiastic
Why did you apply to be a leader?
To further enhance my leadership skills and act as a role model to the younger school community.
