Rolleston College athlete Judah Lodoviko turned in some excellent performances at athletics competitions in Hastings and Christchurch during the summer.
The Colgate Games is New Zealand's largest athletics competition for young athletes aged 7 to 14. Many of New Zealand's most successful athletes got their start at Colgate, including hammer thrower Lauren Bruce, and milers Samuel Tanner and Nick Willis.
Judah won the 400m, recording a significant personal best, and placed second in the 100m at the North Island event in Hastings, showing his range.
He backed up his 400m victory with an even quicker performance at the South Island event a week later in Christchurch, and added gold with a new best in long jump and bronze in the 200m. He was also part of the Selwyn Athletic Club 4x100m relay team who won bronze, featuring two other Rolleston College athletes, Luke Angland and Conner Woodcock.
Judah was selected for a Nick Willis scholarship for his performances.
Judah is also a member of our mixed touch team which placed ninth out of 43 teams in New Zealand in December.
Congratulations Judah!
Several other Rolleston College athletes competed at the South Island Colgate Games, including Zoe Hooper, who won silver in the 100m and placed sixth in the 200m.
Luke won silver in the 800m and 1500m.
Conner placed fourth in the 100m hurdles final, and was seventh in both the 200m and 400m.
