Careers and development: 13 June

Year 12 mock employment interviews

On Wednesday 25 June (week nine), all year 12 learners will participate in a ten minute mock employment interview, during block 1, 2 or 3.  Learners have been emailed an interview time. They will be out of class for 15 minutes to attend their interview.

Most of the interviews will be held in the auditorium speed-meet style. We have 41 employers who are giving up their time to support learners to improve their skills, and give written feedback on their CVs. Learners have all of the details. Please support your learner by offering to check their CV, roleplay an interview , or practise a handshake whilst introducing themselves.

Higgins Girls in Hi-Vis

This week we had eight learners attend a Girls in Hi-Vis event at the Air Force Museum. This event showcases different careers in the infrastructure sector. The girls learnt to use a digger to knock a tennis ball off a cone, use quantity surveying equipment, develop traffic management skills on eScooters, and learn about some of the equipment used in roading. It was a fantastic day out!

Thank you to Higgins and Connexis for putting this event on.
