Ready to Achieve: Good luck for your CAA and derived grade exams!


Next week we enter a two-week exam period. Good luck to all of our learners for their upcoming CAA Literacy and Numeracy exams and the derived grade exams. Learners have worked hard throughout the year and we have been very proud of your preparation leading up to these exams. Remember to utilise your study leave well and follow your study timetable.

 

CAA Literacy and Numeracy exams

  • All year 10 learners will be on study leave on Monday 1, Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 September. 

  • Any year 9, 11, 12 and 13 learners sitting these exams will come out of their classes to sit their exam and then return to class. 

  • All learners and caregivers have been emailed directly with the information regarding which exam, day and time they are sitting their exam(s). 

  • Learners who are sitting the Numeracy exam need to bring a calculator and ruler to their exam.

 

Derived grade exams: year 11, 12 and 13

  • All year 11, 12 and 13 learners will be on study leave from Thursday 4 to Friday 12 September.

  • The derived grade exam timetable and rooming can be found on our school website.

  • Learners with exam clashes have been emailed directly with instructions about which exam to go to and when to sit the ‘clash’.

  • If the advised clash time still doesn’t work due to another course,please advise your Ako/Advisory coach. The afternoon of Friday 12 September has been set aside for learners who have been away or have had a clash that needs to be moved again.

 

Some final reminders

  • Participation in your exams is compulsory: turn up, try hard and you will reach your personal best.

  • Meet in the plaza (for exams in the auditorium), outside gym (for exams in the gymnasium) and top of Waiora stairs (for learners with special assessment conditions (SAC)) on the day of your exam –please arrive at least 20 minutes early. 

  • Wear correct school uniform.

  • All pens, pencils, etc. in a clear plastic bag.

  • Bring a charged device.

  • Bring geadphones (if required for your exam).

  • Bring a calculator (if required for your exam).

  • Drink bottles need to be clear (with no labels).

  • Mobile phones and watches are not permitted.
