We were thrilled to learn in January that our painting scholarship recipient, Tina Liu, had her portfolio selected to be exhibited as part of Top Art.

This exhibition, run by NZQA, gives students and teachers the opportunity to see what's required to earn excellent in level 3 visual arts subjects, but also provides the public a place to see the high-quality art created in schools.

Tina was first in level three painting at Rolleston College in 2024 and earned a scholarship for her portfolio.

Her portfolio will be part of the Pīwakawaka tour, which unfortunately won't visit Te Waipounamu/the South Island, but we encourage anyone who will be in the lower North Island to head along to one of the galleries/locations listed here to see her work!

The Kauri tour, featuring the artwork of other young arts achievers, will come to Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū from Wednesday 2 April to Wednesday 16 April, and we highly recommend having a little look.
