Connected will host two employment expos at Eastgate Mall and Northlands Shopping Centre next week.

10am to midday on Wednesday 25 September at Eastgate

6pm to 8pm on Thursday 26 September at Northlands Shopping Centre

These events are an ideal opportunity for job seekers to connect with local employers, training providers and employment support agencies.

Tent Burn Hatchery experience

One of our year 12 learners has a keen interest in working in the aquaculture industry and this has led to a visit to Tent Burn Hatchery in Southbridge. It was a super interesting and informative visit, learning about the journey of New Zealand king salmon. Aotearoa New Zealand is the only place where you will find king salmon. We had a tour of the hatchery and learnt all about the process of how the breeding fish and their eggs end up in the supermarket. We’ll watch this space to see if our learner ends up as a part of the process.
