Our Rolleston College diary is a fantastic resource for learners and whānau, and not just because it has everything they need to manage their learning, like space to note home learning, upcoming assessments, field trips and anything else. The diary includes information about our learning culture and kaupapa, the Rolleston Spirit, E Tū Tāngata, the Growth and Graduate kete, learner self-reflection rubrics, maps, hauora information (such as counselling and health services), term dates, our daily timetable and space to include their six-day timetable, our cultural narrative, kupu for our haka, karakia and waiata, and more.
It also features weekly self-development tips and to-dos. Week 10 (term one) is about mirror neurons, and how we reflect the moods, attitudes and intentions of those around us. With that in mind, we challenge our learners to be the best possible role model for the people around them.
This ties in with the Rolleston Spirit and our goal of encouraging learners to be well-rounded, self-aware and socially responsible. We encourage whānau to be actively engaged with their learners' self-development, and our school diary is an excellent tool for this.
