School sports wrap: 25 July

Swimming

We have four swimmers (Lewis Harris, Millie Long, Laura Menzies and Khloe Spooner) competing at the NZSS swimming championships in Hamilton this week, and they have gotten off to a great start with Laura winning bronze overall, and second amongst 15 year old girls (by just 0.08s) in the 100m backstroke.

Khloe also competed in the event.

Both girls swam PBs in the 100m individual medley.

Laura also recorded a monster 9-second PB in the 400m freestyle and was ninth overall and first amongst 15 year olds.

Millie took a bronze with a good PB in the 100m backstroke, and Lewis dropped some time from his 100m breaststroke.

Competition continues over the weekend with many more races to come for our athletes!

Hockey

Our First XI girls had what has been described as an "electrifying" game versus Rangi Ruru Girls' School this week, going down 2–1. The team already has their semi-final spot secured and we look forward to what they can achieve in their remaining season games.

Football

Our teams are in a building phase and taking their results this week in stride.

Both girls' and boys' first and second teams took losses, along with the second teams, and junior boys' second team.

We look forward to their grit and determination next week!
