From Sunday 7 December, Kamar is changing the way texting works for Rolleston College Horoeka Haemata, since we use school.kiwi as our SMS/text message provider. For more details, please refer to the KAMAR website.

All text messages will now be sent from one short number (2340).

This change will allow our absences and student services team:

• Have an unlimited number of simultaneous conversations with each recipient.
• Allow responding even when they have no credit on their phone (as long as they have a data connection).
• Allow much longer text messages without the 160 character per SMS cost impact.

Additionally, we can customise the response based on the message type.

We urge you to take caution when opening links in text messages, and remember that all messages from us regarding absences will come from the number 2340.
