At Rolleston College we talk about learners being R2L: Ready to Learn. A part of this is having the right equipment and knowing what they need for specific classes. Here are some things to check in with your learner about.
PE uniform: on days learners have physical education and dance, they need to bring the school PE uniform. They will change into this before class and then change out before going to their next class.
Charged device: Learners need a charged device (laptop or Chromebook) at the start of each day. It would be beneficial for them to bring their charger to school also. If your child needs to borrow a device short or long term, reach out to their Ako coach to arrange this.
Covered shoes: Our school uniform includes black closed-toe shoes. This is especially essential in our technology and science spaces. If learners do not have the correct shoes, it creates a health and safety risk in these spaces.
Stationery: Learners should bring paper/refill/lined book, and pens to school.
Specific subject resources: Some classes have specific text books and resources that learners need e.g., maths and visual arts.
Lunch and drink bottle. We also have an on-site school cafe and drinking fountains around the kura.
