Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa: 31 Mē – 6 Iuni 2026

We are excited to celebrate Sāmoan language and culture during Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa, from Aso Sā/Sunday 31 Mē/May to Aso To'ona'i/Saturday 6 Iuni/June 2026.

This year's theme is ‘E afua mai i mauga tetele manuia o le 'nu'u – From the high mountains are the blessings of the village. You can read more about the theme here.

If you're keen to give Gagana Samoa a go, have a look at the MPP guide to using the language.

We are incredibly proud of Marie Utuvai, who was featured in the Selwyn Times this week (page 14–15) in their Proud to be Me section. Marie and her sisters are instrumental in growing Pasifika and Sāmoan culture at our college, and we couldn't be more pleased to be a part of their journey!

Activities for this year's Vaiaso included a visit to Lemonwood Grove Primary School to share Sāmoan language and culture, lunchtime performances on both campuses, and plenty of content creation for our cultural leaders.
