Wheels at school: Keeping everyone safe

Riding your bike or scooter to school?

You must wear a helmet. All learners need a correctly fitted helmet – on your head, not attached to your backpack or hanging off your handlebars – while travelling to and from school.

Once you enter school grounds, you must walk your wheels. There is no riding of bikes or scooters on school grounds, before and after school, and during the school day. This goes for skateboards too!

This goes for after school too. You need to walk your bike or scooter off school grounds before riding it home. Please take extra care by school driveways!

You must not take short cuts through school car parks. Use the pedestrian paths.

Lock it up!

We strongly recommend that you use a sturdy lock to secure your wheels in the designated racks. Please only touch your own bike or scooter! We take pride in respecting others' property, and taking good care of our own.

Why this is important

These guidelines are in place to manage health and safety risks and to keep our school a safe environment for everyone during the busiest times of the day.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our rangatahi safe!
