Inspiring insights into the legal world: Year 11 Legal Studies hosts High Court judge

On Friday 4 September, our Year 11 Legal Studies learners were privileged to attend an interactive Q&A session with High Court judge, Justice Rachel Dunningham.

As part of their studies into foundational concepts of justice – including how laws are created, court structures, and the separation of powers – the students had the unique opportunity to ask questions and learn firsthand about the inner workings of New Zealand's legal system.

Justice Dunningham shared valuable perspectives on legal processes, the role of the judiciary, and the wide array of career opportunities available within the legal field. The students thoroughly enjoyed the presentation, asking thoughtful questions and gaining a clearer picture of how the principles they study in class apply in real life.

Opportunities like this bring learning beyond the classroom and inspire our young people as they consider their future paths. A huge thank you to Justice Dunningham for taking the time to share her expertise, experience, and wisdom with our students!
