AFS New Zealand is offering an extraordimary initiative in partnership with AFS Türkiye: the 2027 AFS Gallipoli Youth Award.

This award is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: a three-week trip to Türkiye, including the ANZAC Day service at Gallipoli. This isn't a holiday; it's a chance to connect with history and honour a family legacy.

As one of our recent award recipients shared:

Key details and eligibility

• Three students will be selected from across Aotearoa New Zealand.
• Open to New Zealand citizens or residents enrolled in year 11, 12, or 13 (next year: 2027).
• Must be a descendant of a service member involved in the WWI Gallipoli campaign.

Thanks to the generous support of AFS Türkiye, the AFS Educational Trust, and the Michael Jull Memorial Trust, the cost for participants is only $4,000.
