As we move closer to the NCEA Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite (CAA) exams in weeks 5 and 6 (May 18 – May 29), we have an important next step for all learners entered in these assessments.
To complete their online exams, all participating students must have an active NZQA account. Please ensure your child has created or reactivated their account by visiting the NZQA website here.
Learners will need the National Student Number (NSN) that was emailed to them earlier this week to complete this process. We recommend getting this sorted as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute stress on exam day.
To support our learners, we have several revision options available. We encourage students to engage with these resources early.
Literacy preparation:
Google Classroom: Join code 43c6uiao for revision materials.
Tutorials: Held every Thursday at lunchtime in H5 & 2HF1.
Practice: Students can use their NZQA login to practice with Polly or view past digital exam papers here.
Numeracy preparation:
Google Classroom: Join code 2ote5pn2 for online revision.
Tutorials: Held on day 2 at lunchtime and on Wednesdays after school, both in K5 (Te Kura Tuatahi/junior campus).
Equipment: Please remind your learners they must bring a calculator and a ruler for their Numeracy assessment.
Year 10: From Monday 18 May to Wednesday 20 May, all year 10 learners will be learning from home.
Students sitting exams only come to school for their scheduled session (Numeracy on Monday, Writing on Tuesday, Reading on Wednesday).
Specific session times and venues will be emailed to those sitting exams.
Years 9, 11, 12, and 13: These exams will take place during week 6 (25 – 27 May). Numeracy is on Monday, Writing on Tuesday, and Reading is on Wednesday. Learners will follow their normal school timetable and will be excused from class only for the duration of their assessment.
If a learner misses an exam, there will be catch-up opportunities on the Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May.
Specific exam session times, venues and equipment needed will be emailed to those sitting exams during week 2 of the term.
