NCEA Literacy and Numeracy (CAA) exams: 7–11 September 2026

As we draw closer to week 8 and our upcoming NCEA Literacy and Numeracy Common Assessment Activities (CAAs), we want to make sure you and your learner feel fully informed, prepared, and supported.

Here is a quick refresher on what’s coming up, along with crucial details regarding individual exam allocations and an important setup assembly happening next week.

  • When: Week 8 (Monday 7 September – Friday 11 September 2026).
  • Who: Entered year 10–13 learners needing co-requisite credits, alongside selected year 9 learners.
  • School timetable: School runs on a normal timetable throughout the week. Learners are not rostered home and will attend their regular classes when they are not sitting an exam.
  • Remember: These assessments are simply steps on an ongoing learning journey. We encourage our learners to do their best, knowing that further assessment opportunities will be available in 2027.

On Monday 24 August, all entered students received a direct notification via email detailing:

  • The specific date(s) of their exam(s)
  • The exact start time(s)
  • Their assigned exam room/location.

Please encourage your learner to check their school email on Monday and share their personalised schedule with you so you can plan the week together.

To sit an NCEA exam online, every learner must have an active, personalised NZQA student account.

Learners can find their NSN number on their Kamar student portal or by checking with their Advisory/Ako coach.

For learners sitting the Numeracy exam, please remember to bring a calculator and a ruler to your exam.

If you have any questions or need support, please contact your learner's Ako or Advisory coach or reach out to the school office.
